Awwwww.

So the person I brought the cupcakes in for was just tested for swine flu and isn't allowed to return to work until the results come back.

Woah!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Mmm, clafouti. How do you say that?

I would say cluh-FOO-tee. megan walker?

I thought we were over that? I mean, I would hope that someone with any generic flu would stay home but to not be allowed sounds extreme. You work in an office, right? Not a hospital/day care/some other kind of place where people might be delicate?

My day has been slightly bananas, including a missing teenager and two different coworkers asking me if two other coworkers were pregnant. (I have no information about either.)

I still think the best Muppet-inspired fashion ever was that woman who attended a con in a Cookie Monster-fur outfit, complete with his head on a pike.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

There's been another surge in cases in the province, spurred by members of a bunch of military bands getting and spreading the illness during an annual concert we have here. My co-worker's cousin was in the concert, was ill, and borrowed my co-worker's car while she was sick.

I think the whole think is exacerbated by the fact that her boss sent her home yesterday.

Frankly, I'm hoping it means a week of quarantine for me too!

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Hey Kat, when you emerge from the shoe fiasco (or maybe as relief while you're going through it) want to go shopping sometime soon, sans kids?

And in random transitions, the "treatment of overweight" thing makes my skin crawl, but since I teach health science students I have to accept it as correct use of English. Oh the travails of me!

My ears!!

Actually, you shouldn't really stress any of the syllables, but, if any, I'd say the third one. So, clahh-foo-TEE.

Especially without getting sick! That would be the best of both worlds.

See, I had no idea! Merci. (Which I pronounce the same as mercy.)
