Tom's got your back!
Yay Tom!
What does he wanna know?
Also, tommyrot:
In traditional Judaism, each person has two desires (in the lack of a better English word), constantly in conflict inside their soul: the desire to do good, and the desire to do evil. It's not unlike those cartoons of an angel sitting on one shoulder, and a devil sitting on the other. And nobody is going around without both of those desires, even the best or worst of people.
But, and here's the main point, IMHO, *both* these desires were created by G-d, both of them come from the same place. It's not a battle of good-vs-evil in the source of things, because both the good and the evil are coming from the same source. There are no two separate entities fighting anywhere, other than inside each person's soul.
So Satan in its traditional role as the entity which is standing against all of the good G-d's good intentions is not the picture here. In fact, Satan is just another one of G-d's angels, "servants", so to speak.
And then, of course, you go into other big questions, such as why should there be evil in a world created by G-d (in order to benefit the creatures in it), why should there be a desire to do evil in the human should and so on. But that's another question, and I think that I already babbled more than you asked for and should shut my keyboard up.
But how do you know?
Remaining twin not so evil! He will usually say "hi" to me, for example.
the due date is right in between both our birthdays
That's fantastic. It's a whole week of celebration for you guys.

Bon voyage, sarameg!
Until we got bought by the Dutch in the mid-90s, we were a nepotism-friendly company. We're talking generations of employees working here, going back to 1913, when it was founded. If your dad or mom was here, you started working in the summer as an intern/temp doing some filing when you were 16, if not younger. After you graduated from high school, you'd start in one of the entry-level jobs until retirement. If you didn't already have family here but were hired without nepotism, you could get your own family members employed after you became established.
It just so happens that my cousin-in-law is now the company's CFO, but since I was hired after applying to a blind ad in the Tribune, I can't give him credit for my employment.
(And hey, seriously - what's up with scheduling the wedding two days after your birthday?)
Making sure that DKH never forgets your birthday? He might forget the anniversary, but your birthday's a lock!
Wait, do we have the same birthday? September 12?
No, I'm afraid not.
Shir was talking about the Hebrew date of my birthday (which is the one I celebrate). Each year, it coincides with a different general-date. I was lucky enough to share birthday, this way, with Nutty, Emmett and meara. This year, it's your turn!
FredPete, I'm so sorry for you loss. It's heartbreaking.
