Wow, you've really mastered the power of positive giving-up.

Art Crawl!!!

Wow! A giant.

My kitties let me sleep in a bit. Although, that means 7:30ish to me now.

Of course, once they had their breakfast they commenced napping.

Brightest blessings for Grace off the vent! That's fantastic news. May she now enjoy much more fun accessories.

I have paper for nails.
This is me. I cut them shorter than my fingers just to be safe from tearing, but it annoys to not be able to finesse things with a nail.

Back in the 80s, I was the acrylic nail queen! Loved them. Wore them like jewelry. But when I left to walk across America, it just seemed practical to remove them. That was kind of gross, really. The nail beds were in terrible shape, sore and scary.

Now, I can't imagine going through the effort and pain. Mine used to pop up from the back all the time, despite being professionally applied. It was like a reverse, bamboo under the nails torture. Made me stop reaching out for things, it did.

Puffed Rice:

I just have to crow for a second...

After having mono 4 years ago, my health just went down the drain. Plus the whole, shuffling the mortal coil wouldn't be such a bad idea period.

Lately, with the inspiration of a good friend, and some medical advice, I've eliminated gluten and some other stuff and have been feeling much, much better.

Last night, I went to the gym with the aforementioned friend and had a wonderful time remembering what I was like when I was a total gym rat in the 90s.

This morning, I saw a 4, meaning the 140s, on my scale for the first time in years. It felt so good.

Plus, I'm hosting a clothing exchange tomorrow and went through ALL my clothes in preparation. Even the stored stuff I haven't fit in years. I was taken by how many really nice things I have in size 8. Timeless clothes I really love.

There is my added incentive and I feel like I'm really on my way.

Now to figure out how to afford a gym membership. I wish my solo efforts were enough. But even with a professional Spinner in my living room, I know I need that competitive incentive.

::prayers sent aloft!::

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I can't believe how good my nails are now. They used to be bitten, peely, bendy messes. I give credit to the Colombian nail strengthening stuff the lady at the nail place sold me, in addition to not biting.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Yay, Grace!

Leifur came in for a snuggle at the usual time this morning, but I can do that and fall back to sleep with no trouble. Now he's attempting to kill a rubber-band. It's good to have an easily-amused cat.

Now to shower, go to the nursery, and replace some plants that snuffed it over the past month.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Now to figure out how to afford a gym membership.

Is there a YMCA or community center near you?

Cincy has community recreation centers in all the different neighborhoods, which have (at minimum) a gym and meeting rooms, and usually some kind of workout room with weights and treadmills. The newer rec centers have bigger workout rooms and often have walking tracks. Some have pools.

Anyway, yearly membership is $15 as long as you live within city limits. Some of the bigger, nicer rec centers charge an extra fee for the workout room, but it still works out to something like $10/month.

I use the rec center 3-4 times a week, and it suits my needs perfectly. Plus I love supporting the city's programs. (The rec centers have all kinds of programs for kids/seniors/other people. The one that I go to has a big teen lounge where teens can come after school, and there's a big-screen TV and computers and couches and stuff. It's excellent.)

Anyway, is there anything like that in your area?
