I would gladly be someone's laundry elf in exchange for time spent vacuuming up the fleas. On the plus side, mr. flea (heh. ggrrr.) is a really thorough and careful cleaner. Much better than me. If only he did this kind of cleaning more than, oh, once every 15 years, we'd have a spotless house.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

sometimes eating less slows metabolism.

Yeah, that's generally the way it goes. The body does not like to think that it is losing out on calories so it tends to hang on like hell to them once it works out that's what's happening. Evolutionary tic to help against starvation.

“Not dead yet!”

I would be a really thorough and careful cleaner if I actually, you know, cleaned. One of the reasons I don't do a lot of heavy duty cleaning around the house is because I'd be just this side of OCD about it, only to have someone thoughtlessly come through and Mess. It. Up. right away.

I'd rather budget money for someone else to clean once a week and keep what's left of my sanity intact.

My brother just offered to burn down my new deck for me. Wonder how his deck faired this 4th....

I'm totally going to chow down on food (healthy, obviously) for the next few weeks and see what happens.

Yup, he got a sweet postdoc there, so no moving and still cheap cost of living.

He's got a column in a newspaper (Kansas City Star, according to his Bio). Not the internet's fault, this time.

Sorry about that, being that Kansas City is where I live.

Also sorry about the whole Fred Phelps thing, being that Topeka is where I grew up.

This ain't the most progressive part of the country.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Kat, I need to re-get you that insurance info I promised you--the computer I had it on crashed again. Let me get on that.

In don't read the comment news, there are a couple of real assholes commenting on Roger Federer's Wimbledon page. If you're a stalwart fan of his opponent, why not go big up his opponent on his page instead of pissing on Roger's? People, I swear. I hope all the people that tweeted at Andy were nice to him.
