Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Let me just say that the dog in pic 8 (a Chinese Crested) was totally robbed.

Yeah, that's the one I thought looked insane.

Gus, a one-eyed, three legged Chinese Crested dog walks around the stage after he was named the winner of the 20th Annual World's Ugliest Dog Competition.

God. To be a Chinese Crested dog is bad enough, but one-eyed and three legged?

They should have called him "Lucky."

Art Crawl!!!

You know - there ought to be a separate class for dogs that AREN'T Chinese Crested - given that Chinese Cresteds are so gifted in the ugly dog area.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Yeah, that's the one I thought looked insane.

I think it looks like an aye-aye.

Yeah, it's really not fair. I also think the wrong dog won in that contest.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

A friend of mine has a 'Powderpuff' -- a Chinese Crested that is fully haired (they're quite fluffy -- think a miniature poodle with hair relaxant).

The hairless gene, like the tailless gene for Manx cats, is a defective gene, and teeth/skull deformities are quite common with it. So there are a lot of 'reject' Cresteds out there, even if you back-breed them with the healthy non-hairless Cresteds to ensure some better genes.

In non-ugly-dog news, I had my annual review. It was about as positive as it could be.

Yay! Go Gud!

eta: You should reward yourself by getting a Chinese Crested dog.

I think I'll just save money and shave my beagle.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Congrats, Gud!

Those ugly dogs are all starting to look cute to me. Or possibly like they need extra sheltering from an uncaring world, poor dears. Though if their owners are taking them to Petaluma to compete, they are probably doing okay, I suppose.

Apply plenty of sedative before attempting to shave a beagle.
