I assumed we could just ignore the last sentence. It parsed better for me.
Oy, perving on my Sensei is not cool.
I'm sorry, Suzi, did you say something?
Oooh! Shiny belt! [link]
Nice, Trudy.
Ok, ok. Many of the male Sensei's we have are pretty easy on the eyes. I'm just worried that I may be old enough to be this one's mother and that just feels wrong.
But you're not his mother, right? Then it's probably okay.
Any nine month memeory gaps there, Suzi?
Hmm. That an interesting thought. A man is probably more likely than a woman to date someone 16+ years younger than himself and DEFFINATELY more likely to be the unwitting parent of such a person.
That's the news from the far side of two. I think billytea owes us an update from the other end of the infant spectrum.
I'll see what I can do. Ryan's now eight weeks old, he's just started smiling. It's still tentative and a little uncertain, but is also totally open and gorgeous. He's very alert, he's able to raise his head strongly when lying on his tummy, and starting to get the hang of moving his arms and legs (he can get his hand into his mouth more reliably now).
He's very healthy; we took him for a check-up last week, and he's in the 75th percentile for height, weight and head circumference, so he's growing strongly. His vision seems to be developing well too. Oh, and he's reached the stage now where he can get bored; we've got him a couple of toys to help stimulate his brain. (I've been reading a book about babies' neurological development, called "What's Going on in There?", fascinating reading.)
He's settled into something of a routine now and is settling faster and sleeping longer at night (good little man). He's taking an interest in his reflection (though I doubt he recognises himself yet). He loves staring at his daddy, which suits his daddy just fine. Oh, and he loves getting his nappy changed. Not sure what that's all about, but it's a highlight of his day.
His grandparents, of course, dote on him. I think he's already worked out that grandpa is an easy touch. Clever little baby boy. His mummy, however, is still run down, and has pretty much had a cold for the last four weeks or so. She's not getting enough sleep - she's plenty tired, but just can't fall asleep. We had her Chinese doctor visit today, she left some things to help her sleep. I hope it works.
I'm pretty knackered too right now, though for a different readon. I started my Master of Finance degree yesterday. This first unit is insanely intensive - five hours yesterday and today, attending every weekday for the next three weeks or so except Wednesdays. Anyway, since I get Wednesdays off, I'm on Ryan duty tonight. (Oh, the hardship. How shall I ever endure feeding and cuddling him?)
In short, we couldn't ask for him to be doing any better than he is. Everything is developing the way it should, and he's a healthy, strong, engaged, lovely little boy. (And he even still has that new baby smell.)
That's lovely to hear, billytea.

Didn't stop Demi Moore. Or Barbara Hershey. Or Ivana Trump Or...
And yay on the babytea update! I love all those developmental milestones. It's so wondrous!

Oh, smiling! That's one of my favorite milestones!!
