I don't think I've ever said swathe.
As a kid I told a friend I had to "swathe hay" - he didn't know what I meant, and thought I had said some French word - 'swathey' or something.

I pronounce "swathe" to rhyme with "lathe" and "bathe."
Kathy, I had no idea that Breyer's made dolls.

"Swathe" with a long A doesn't seem too weird. But "swather" with a long A seems all kinds of wrong.
We had this swather with an air-cooled v-4 that I liked. If I choked it too much while starting it and accidentally flooded it, it would sound so cool as it first would run on only one cylinder, then two, then three, and after half a minute the fourth one would finally join in.

True, true.
Adorable! i'm told the blue ones are a Comicon exclusive (anyone going and want to buy one or a hundred?)

The novella is an economy novel, and a novelette has a fiberglass body and a V-8?
Heh - I was named after the Lady Jessica Atreides. Dune-nerddom is in my blood.
Does that mean your son is the Kwisatz Haderach?

I am asking Jilli and Pete and Polter-Cow if they will buy me some.
