Art Crawl!!!

Tennis: Wasn't or isn't Melanie Oudin fun to watch play? I think if she continues - she will meet Venus in the quarters, right?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Offspring is attempting to redeem himself by adorably inserting "Mommy" into various song lyrics. Perhaps I will not sell him on eBay today after all.

(But HOLY FUCKING GOD last night sucked elephant balls. Went to bed with much protesting - his latest obsession is being tucked in, which had to be done three times before he was tucked to his satisfaction. Slept for about an hour, then woke up SCREAMING and would not setting down no matter what we did. He wanted water. He wanted to sleep in our bed. He wanted to get down and walk into the living room. He wanted more water. And on and on and on until we finally decided that nothing was really wrong and he could cry it the fuck out in his own damn bed. Which he did. Until MIDNIGHT. You'd think that going to bed so late would make him sleep late, and yet...not so much. Then swim class was a total fucking nightmare of screaming crankiness. Thank god for DH volunteering to run around with him on the playground while I sat quietly on a bench with my iPhone.)

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

We woke up slowly this morning, with Matilda hectoring us from her crib while I tried to bury my head under a pillow and JZ nose-down into a book she's trying to finish.

But coffee was applied to the brainpan and I got up and made Jacqueline birthday crepes (with strawberries, sugar and cinnamon and a drizzle of tangy greek yogurt [in lieu of sour cream]).

At some point today, Matilda and I will try to procure a birthday cake for JZ. In between there will be laundry and perhaps a walk in the park (and carousel ride).

Jacqueline got The Umbrella Academy for her birthday, and graciously allowed as how the two pairs of shoes I got her recently and the American Maid action figure could also count towards her birthday haul.

Emmett's off at a tournament in Roehnert Park, but it's his mom's weekend with him, so I might just catch the Sunday games tomorrow.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Is it JZ's birthday (see how well I pick up on hints?)

Happy Birthday, JZ!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Dylan! You. Must. Chill.

Sounds like he's coming down with two years old.

Your brains are filled to the salted brim with ratiocination!

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

That sounds like it would hurt.
