Timelies all!
Dinner will most likely be take-out Chinese. Which is perfectly fine by me.
ita, I just talked to my little sister, and even she said that the action was hard to follow and she couldn't tell which were the good guys and which were the bad guys when everything was blowing up. She wanted a TiVo to bloop-bloop past all the action near the end. But she said it was funny and generally liked it overall.
P-C, since I can't work out how anyone could have liked the first one, I guess you could like the second one just fine.
I had a panic. The Wimbledon coverage said that reporters had been asking Federer about MJ and Mandela. But it's okay. Mandela==still alive. Even Wimbledon coverage opened up with the news of MJ's death, which was a little much, and Serena apparently got more questions about him than about tennis, since they'd spent some time together.
And Andy Roddick had been complaining jovially that he gets more questions about Twitter than he does about tennis, but if he tweets about MJ's death, how will he not get more attention? Apparently his following goes up every time they show his feed on ESPN2--they refreshed the screen and showed an increase of 15 as they spoke yesterday.
I have been such a housewife today. Not a Real Housewife (lacking as I do in millions of dollars and multiple nannies) but a real housewife. Both kids at home. Spent the morning mopping the kitchen, dining room, living room, and Franny's bedroom. Then I got the slow cooker started making ground turkey and kidney beans for mac and beans, or American goulash, or whatever it's called. Made the kids lunch and then, on their recommendation, walked up to the local frozen yogurt store. Now I'm going to go wash the dishes.
I have to say it's been a nice enough way to spend the day, but I don't think I'd want to watch myself on tv. The kids maybe. They have been playing Animal Adventurers all day. The walk to the store = rain forest. Now they are wearing swim vests and pretending to explore the ocean.
I'm following along at the watch-n-post for the Cubs/White Sox game over at the Tribune's website, and the writer keeps on making pot jokes about the Cubs catcher, Soto (who tested positive). I must be twelve years old, because they're making me giggle.
Holy crap, I am so glad I beat the thunderstorms home! It is crazy outside! But I am dry and feeling cool breezes. V. nice.
I just made it too! I'm supposed to go a rooftop party tonight, I hope it clears up.
I feel like it will -- I think we've turned the corner to normal summer weather.
Cubs win, 5-4, and their biggest get of recent years, Milton Bradley, has stomped off in a snit because he got yanked by Pinella, changed into his street clothes, and drove out of the parking lot before the game was done. Asshole.
