John Houghtaling, an inventor whose best-known product shook postwar America, or at least those Americans who stayed overnight in midprice motels, died on Wednesday at his home in Fort Pierce, Fla. Mr. Houghtaling, the inventor of the Magic Fingers Vibrating Bed, was 92.
I am so sleepy. And I do not want to work.
I am trying to decide if I can go home early. My boss is off today and there is really no one else to tell. But I did get here and hour and a half early, so I feel like I could leave at three if my boss were here.

You should totally leave early! Unless there's some "coverage" issue... I have worked in places that believed it was important to have certain bodies in certain seats at certain times, even when it was bullshit. Like in an office where everyone had a direct phone line, so even if someone did call my boss when I was in and he wasn't, it really didn't matter. And yet! He wanted me there. Meh.
I was sure I read about the Magic Fingers guy earlier in the week. Maybe it was yesterday morning. The whole day did feel a week long.

my boss is gone and I can probably leave as soon as I want, but I really need to get like 5 more things done. WAH!
I've done some email cleanup and misc., and I have a small project I should really just get done, but I don't want to! I have until the end of the day Monday, so it just feels non-urgent for sure.
I'm covering my department's help desk today, so I'm here for another 2.5 hours. But hey, there's AC, caffeine, and broadband, so I'm pretty ok with it.
