They had eight kids and little income and I'm sure a reality show seemed like a great solution once upon a time.
Oh, like Octomom and her reality show.
Hey, you know if everyone who needed extra income got a reality show, then that could take a real strain off the government.
I'll take a reality show.
I could have been on that new
Arranged Marriage
show.
I thought it would deal more with the day-to-day organization and logistics about having a large family
My impression from the mommy podcast I listen to is that it was more like that in the beginning, but got WAY out of hand once it became their primary source of income.

It seems to me that Kate, at least, also thrived on some of the fame, given the number of appearances and photo ops over the last few years.
What bothers me is that even though they're going on hiatus for a little while, they're still under contract for 40 more episodes. And now is really not the time to be filming these kids' lives, while their parents are separating. That's hard enough without a filmed record of it following them around forever.

I heard a day or two ago that the show was canceled. I forget where....

I do.
Oh shit, I didn't just accidentally marry you, did I?
I heard on the tv this morning that the producers might be making it Jon and Kate Plus Nine, and include Jon's new girlfriend in the show.
