Where are the marching bands? I was told there would be marching bands? And it's getting dark already! Hurry up, marching bands!

I'm no fan of Rush Limbaugh. He is a big fat idiot and listening to him makes the very foundations of my soul hurt.
But I disagree with many of you about his statement. "I hope he fails" isn't evil. It's not laudable. It's not respectable. But it's honest. I believe, deep down, Rush hopes Barack and any vestige of what he derisively terms, liberalism, fails. I won't condemn him for saying it aloud.
When we invaded Iraq, some part of me hoped we wouldn't find WMD. The evidence was so flimsy, the reasons for invasion so questionable, that I didn't want W to be right. I just didn't. Yes, it cost numerous innocent lives, and had they found WMD those lives wouldn't have been lost in vain, yet part of me still hoped they'd fail.
Rush believes, or has brainwashed himself to believe, that any Democratic president will attempt to inject government into every aspect of private industry. He's wrong, stupid, logically inconsistent and ignorant. But, at least today, he's honest. (And still scum for all the other reasons.)
I'm listening to Barack's speech. Man, that was good stuff.
Hell, I hoped to be wrong in 2000. By 2004, I knew all hope was gone. If I had hoped Bush would fail, I would now be happy beyond my wildest dreams.
The Prez hasn't made it to the viewing stand yet, so we don't see bands until he does.
I think the two situations are different. One is inflicting devistation one is relieving it.
Crime makes you stupid. And I don't believe anyone still listens to the Comedian, after the drugs and viagra for all boys' weekends in Bankok...kiss my working-class ass, mr. It's Okay If You're A Republican. (Ok, so I've fallen short of Special Comment gravitas...quickly, find me a Lincoln ass-kissing story, stat.)
I turned on the TV just as the motorcade was passing the Canadian Embassy. It was perfect timing. I have TiVo'd the inauguration, but I haven't gone back yet.
I love Sasha's coat!
I'm hoping the designer lined Michelle Obama's coat with Thinsulate.
