GAH FUCK. I've been trying for...
::checks computer clock::
...two and a quarter hours now to upload a revised MS to a journal website for one of my bosses. Every single copy that I send is showing up as a 94-page PDF with every single edit that's ever been made on this miserable thing.
I've turned off show comments, show insertions/deletions, show reviewers, track changes; shut down the show balloons option in the application preferences; shut down all possible remotely edit-related tickyboxes, then quit out, then gone back in, and nothing is working. The document looks clean as a whistle in Word and like a fucking multicolor nightmare in PDF, and I can't find any other edit/proofing anything to opt out of.
It's possible that having worked straight through lunch on this assbastard document and now being savagely hungry may be contributing to my foul mood, but really mostly I think it's Word hate.
I blame Tino.
I love Varsity disposable fountain pens. They come in fun colors.
Timelies all!
Back from the con. Other than travel delays on both ends, I had a great time.(These things always go by so quickly)
Next year is our turn to run the Northeast Floating Filk Con. AaaaaHHHH!
Oh my god. Two Metro trains on the redline have collided. Near Takoma Park. How is that even possible?
Most people have been able to walk away, but at least one person is dead.
ION, am I the only one to not know there are disposable fountain pens?
I dunno, but I've been using them for a good 20 years.
I am glad my DH drove today.
eta: the news is now saying 2 dead
Sparky, you were the first person I thought of. I'm so glad your dh is not involved. God, the pictures are chilling. One train on top of the other, sheered open like a tin can.
Ooh, that accident looks bad. I explained to Dillo that I was sad about a train crash and people getting hurt, and he earnestly told me that "they were wearing their SEAT BELTS." Somehow I doubt that would have helped.
I did not know about the Varsity pens, and they come in pink! I used to use a fountain pen; I should get back into it. I hate ball points. I just never write much any more.

JZ, in Word, did you click on the green checkmark that means "Accept All Changes"? Because just turning off the "Show changes/reviewers/etc" doesn't make them go away.
That's my best guess.
t edit
Sometimes I highlight the entire document and click on the Accept All Changes checkmark.
