I was doing much cleaning but I have been thwarted by DW who is in such a bad mood I cannot make the noise that cleaning entails. Maybe tomorrow I can get it done.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I accidentally dropped one of those plastic thingies that close bags of bread into the garbage disposal. Should I try to figure out how to get it out, or will it be OK to just turn the disposal on and shred it up?

I would reach in and pull it out, but I imagine the disposal could manage it. It would be prudent to reach in only when the disposal is off, but you probably already thought of that.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I would take it out--I have gummed up too many disposals by trusting in their jaws of death.

I don't think I can reach all the way to the bottom of the disposal. I've got tongs that I usually use for getting stuff out, but I don't think that I'm coordinated enough to pick up something that small with tongs.

Huh. The tongs worked. That was easier than I'd expected.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Just got back from work and picking up Dad's gift for tomorrow. Both the B&N and Omaha Steaks stores were packed today!! We were dead at the bookstore from 10-10:20, and then swamped until I finally clocked out at 2:15 (15 minutes late, but we had a line that we needed all three cashiers to handle).

Then I drove over to pick up Dad's gift--first time I'd ever been into an Omaha Steaks place. Got a lot of food for $50: 2 porterhouse steaks, 2 tenderloin steaks, 4 burgers, 4 stuffed potatoes, 2 chicken breasts, 2 of another kind of steak, and a free box of 6 burgers that I'm keeping for myself. Add to that the jar of honey raspberry mustard pretzel dipping sauce I got for myself, and I was rather happy with my haul.

Had to clean out my freezer to make room for all of these boxes. Time to do that anyway, the ground turkey and beef had been in there so long that they were dark brown with freezer burn.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

I fail as a mom. I didn't make sure CJ had a card and something before he went to his dad's for the weekend. No Father's Day anything prepared. For as much as I'm looking forward to the X part of STBX, I'm still thankful for my kids. Blarg.

Trust my rage

I kind of failed too. I got Joe a gift but it doesn't do what he needs. I wanted to get a wafflemaker but we were at a wedding all day and I spent all day yesterday helping him update his clearance. (name, address and phone number of someone who knew him at every place we've lived the last 10 years, same thing for all his jobs, and his entire family, plus all our addresses). So I haven't had a free moment since Thursday. The kids made card and that will have to do.
