Fred: It's the pictures in my mind that are getting me. It's like being stuck in a really bad movie with those Clockwork Orange clampy things on my eyeballs. Wesley: Why imagine? Reality's disturbing enough.

Teddy just watched a young relative get sworn in to Congress, didn't he? I guess if you're going to pick a time to go, though . . . Good stories for heaven: "Hey, Jack, Bobby, guess where I was!"

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I'm hoping that Kennedy is just tired and it's nothing serious. What a sad thing to happen on such a wonderful day.

What is even happening?

I thought Teddy looked great, this morning.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Yeah, me too. Really hoping it's nothing.

Must remember to never read the comments on news stories on the Net. When will I learn!

What is even happening?

Hatch is telling msnbc that Kennedy had a seizure and appeared to be in pain but was consciou. It was Hatch's impression that Kennedy was able to communicate.

I thought I heard that Byrd took ill first, but Ben was talking to me and I'm not sure I heard right.

eta...

That's what the Washington Post is reporting. Byrd and Kennedy were at the same table. Byrd left ill, first, then Teddy's seizure began. [link]

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

CNN keeps showing footage from the luncheon with Ted Kennedy walking around shaking hands. With a big "LIVE BREAKING NEWS" graphic in the corner. It's very confusing.

Yeah, that's what KO seems to think as well. Sounds like Kennedy had a 'sode, but I hope it's just exertion and such.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

connie, I am in the same boat. Why did I think the comments at the Dallas Morning News would be anything but a bunch of bitter cynics? Did they not listen to the part of the speech that said the ground shifted under them.

The sheer number of people saying, "I hope his policies don't work" kill me. Really? I can see saying, "I'm don't think this will work and here's why." or "This hasn't worked in the past." or "This will have these unintended consequences." But hoping a plan to provide hundreds of thousands of jobs doesn't work????

WTF!?! Man!
