"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Hmm... helicopter went away.

Yeah, as much every time the civility guy P.M. Forni start pontificating, I want to curse and be really rude (seriously, every time he comes on the radio, I can't restrain myself from saying "FUCK YOU FORNI! SHOVE IT You POMPOUS OLD WINDBAG!!!" It's quite funny) it does often smooth things.

And my little black heart gets evil satisfaction at maintaining that smoothness in the face of rudeness. Little black heart hopes my civility makes 'em feel small. Bless their hearts. And in the face of rudeness, kill 'em with kindness often does ratchet things down.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Is this the worst Star Trek cake ever? [link]

It's supposed to be Picard, in case you can't tell.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

tommy, I can't quite believe I'm getting into this, but is it supposed to be a replica of the cake from the episode where Picard had to deal with the kids?

Our wings are not tired.

Ha! Tommy, that's funny! Only the emblem (insignia?) on the shirt gives a hint of Star Trek!

I don't know (I don't remember that episode) - I found it here: Captain Picard Day

eta: btw, Captain Picard Day is tomorrow.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

In Leverage news (reported by Perkins in the Cable Drama thread), Chris Kane just got 17 stitches in his forehead (cut to the BONE) and then took them out himself early. I can't stop wincing. [link]

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Whereas I'm still bitching and moaning about my teef being taken out a week ago...

I looked bad for at least two weeks after I messed my face up. And the day after was definitely "don't leave the house and scare the children" time. Doctor made me leave the lip stitches in extra long, so this whole taking them out early yourself thing is beyond me.

Thrive to spite them

I get callers who either try to tell me their whole life story before getting to the point, and which means during a week like this I have to put them on hold five times before they even getting to the issue. OR they don't want to give me any information and I have to keep probing and cajoling to get anything from them. The worst kind of those callers are the kind who act offended when I try to get information out of them to help.
