On my seventh birthday, I wanted a toy fire truck, and I didn't get it, and you were real nice about it, and then the house next door burnt down, and then real firetrucks came, and for years I thought you set the fire for me. And if you did, you can tell me!

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Sasha is a common nick for Alexander. Does that help? Nope, I guess. I don't think of it as a fem name in that context, but outside it I knew quite a few girl Sashas. Anyway, I knew that was a mystery to be resolved and now has been.

I know. Alex was originally Alexander and is now Sasha which doesn't seem anymore female to me than Alex. In fact, kinda less.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Don't drop the Spirit Stick!

Bring it on, baby!!! I love that movie so much. One of my all time fav guilty pleasures.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Alex is one of Franny's favorite names. Not that it would matter to Grace's nurse.

I would share your confusion on the names, Kat. I think of Sasha as a male name.

I think of Sasha as a male name.

Unless you mean Sasha Fierce. And then I think "crazy robot hand"

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Grrr! They started jackhammering outside my window at the stroke of 8, and seem to have stopped now. But I'm already up! Bah.

I can see where US people who don't know Russians would think of Sasha as a female name, given that it ends in A.

“Not dead yet!”

And we've also got Sasha Obama = gorgeous future headache for her daddy.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

And Sasha Cohen before her.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

and Sasha Cohen.

up at 8 also. wanted more sleep but we were completely out of cat food and the vet opens at 8. Given we have to leave at 10 anyway, not the worst ever.

I shamelessly slept in my clothes from yesterday and went on the errand to the vet in the same. great example for mac.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

For some reason I've been having problems sleeping in on Saturday. Today I woke up at 5:00, and then again at 6:00 and 6:30. Finally I just stayed awake at 7:00, playing with my MacBook Pro. All the time waiting until 8:00, when my fave breakfast place opens (and where I am now).
