Liese, people have the Penguins fever around here. Between the election and the playoffs, (both our new premier and Crosby are from the same suburb) people are going a little crazy.

Did you have to teach them that the files need to go in actual alphabetical order, not, say, just all the "m's" together! I did once, and boy that was fun.

She got it pretty quickly, once I explained how to figure out what she was looking for. (I.e., a letter to a person at a place is going to be filed by the place, not the person.)

I do feel vindicated in my stance that having interns do our filing is an educational experience and not just a boring task we don't feel like doing!

I temped at an insurance company right after college graduation, and filing was my entire job. They didn't have to train me, but I don't think they were expecting me to be quite as good as I was at it. Because when I finished the filing I found the porn stash one of the agents was keeping at the bottom of the file cabinet. Very educational! The main lesson being, find better hiding places for your porn.

Aargh. Work Nemesis strikes again!

She called me and asked me if I thought my boss would "flip out" if something that she was doing didn't happen by Monday.

I said she would be upset if it didn't happen today (since the task was reimbursing my boss for $300.00 that she spent yesterday.

So when she called my boss to tell her that she wasn't being reimbursed, she told my boss "Sophia said you would FLIP OUT!!! if you didn't get your money!"

Grrr.

OK, seriously? What is wrong with people! Who would keep porn in an office drawer?? Especially one that wasn't attached to the desk you were sitting at???

In high school I worked for a dermatologist doing all the filing. I loved filing.

Sophia, anytime work nemesis engages you in any way about someone else, you must get to that person first.

Conversly, you could put nemesis on hold, call boss and ask "nemesis wants to know if you will quote Flip Out end quote if you do not get reimbursed today."
