this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I think for a lot of people, erika, it takes some work to understand that sexuality and gender identity are separate. But when you think of it as: this is who I'm attracted to, and this is how I feel in my body it's a little easier to get.

People that have gender dysphoria don't feel right with their biological package of sex organs. You may have issues with your body but you're fine with having girly bits.

At some point (I think) it's difficult to describe it all as a series of binary choices. It's not nearly as simple as Chastity was a lesbian and now wants to be a man. Both sexuality and gender identity can be kind of fluid and evolving anyway.

I just wanted to mention that this is the best, clearest description of gender vs. sexual orientation I've read anywhere. You're the bee's knees, Hec.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

What are people doing this weekend?

Saturday is cleaning and forcing the cats to get over themselves day. Sunday is birthday brunch and errand day.

Tomorrow is a family wedding (v. swanky -- getting married in a cathedral, reception in a way-too-elegant-for-me place), and between the wedding and the reception, The Boy and I are driving down to the airport to meet up with the rest of his family, to greet his nephew the Marine, who is getting back in town after serving in Iraq for 9 months.

Sunday we should clean house but probably won't.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

I am flying to Columbus Ohio at the crack of dawn tomorrow morning and hanging out with my sister and her family. Coming back on Tuesday.

The status is NOT quo.

ND and I are helping our friends move (luckily my part of the help will primarily be painting, not moving boxes) on Saturday. Then he leaves for Orlando Sunday morning, and I plan to read a book. No really, that's my whole plan! Summer vacation rocks.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Perhaps I'll install an XP or Windows 7 virtual machine on my MacBook Pro. And then install my Windows software on that.

I was thinking of taking a sailing class over the weekend, but I'm still getting over a cold so probably not.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'm going to see The Wiz tomorrow night, and possibly brunch tomorrow as well. That's it for plans.

Something did go down here, but nothing drastic, and it's actually good over all. So phew.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

My baby turns two on Sunday!

You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

It has been cold and foggy here in LA since the end of May. June gloom is in full swing.

As for this weekend, I will be sitting in a theater all weekend, bored out of my skull, because 80-90% of the work I'm supposed to be doing this weekend will be done today.

Because that's how I roll.

Because that's how I was trained to roll.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Happy twoth birthday, Jessica's baby! Two is *awesome*, you won't believe it.

Toddson, I've also been earwormed with the McD's jingle for days. I hate them. The Coke glasses they're giving out are neat, though.

I love Benny Lava! My niece showed it to me last Christmas and we laughed our stupid faces off. I may change Wilson the New Cat's name to Benny Lava.
