this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I eat fruit straight 99% of the time. And the other 1% is on top of cereal. Strawberries, blueberries, cherries, blackberries, peaches, banannas, apples, oranges -- all straight from the fridge/bowl to my mouth.

I'm ready for seasonal cherries -- and peaches! Oh man, peaches.

ION, we have a dog who has been having gastrointestinal distress since Friday, and it is NASTY. If he has one more bout of diarrhea, we're calling the vet tomorrow. We've been feeding him rice, and he's still as energetic and friendly as ever -- he just has the runs and we can't leave him alone for more than an hour or so, or he'll make a mess in the kitchen. Thank god he has the sense to go in the kitchen, where it's tile and easy to clean (though disgusting).

Poor dog noodle.

Now tagless for your comfort.

ARGH! I was just at Target! Next time I come in, I'll pick one of those up. I've been using the tip of a potato peeler and that's a really time consuming way to do it.

When I get too many cherries, I do freeze them. Have an evening sitting on paper in front of the tv, pitting. Then I freeze. And eat frozen cherries when it is really hot.

Good lord--I just saw on my sister's facebook that she and my mother were picking up supplies for my mother's TWO NEW DOGS. WTF???

information libertarian

We had people over for dinner. Two adults and their 6 year old twins.

Now I remember why we don't have people over for dinner. It was very nice, but the kids were insane - loud, crazy, wild. And poor Dillo always left out. And the ice cream didn't freeze. I am so tired.

(Cherries probably freeze well - pit, halve, and put on cooky sheets until frozen, then to ziplocks.)

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Duck (or chicken) or pork in cherry-port reduction. Yum.

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

I just realized since I only eat them plain or make clafoutis, I've never really pitted cherries.

If I'm pitting, I'm also cutting half.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I need cherry ideas people!

Please make brandied cherries. I need them to make Manhattans. So much better than maraschino cherries.
