Nilly, you made me laugh!

Thunderstorm out there.

sarameg, yay! That's the best thing I did today (and, um, by today I mean your tomorrow, so I still have most of it in front of me, but still).

You know what somebody talented should invent? A dance to the sound of the printer working.

After all the work, the writing, the editing, the corrections, the editing of the corrections, the no-paper-in-printer, the finding-paper-in-the-secretary's-secret-hiding-place, the last-minute-editing - the sound of the printer working is indeed like music to sore ears. A happy-making music. And that kind of music deserves to be danced to.

It's a little dull music in terms of harmonies and the like, I guess, so the dance would not be an easy one to come up with, and there should be special breaks for typing-a-particularly-data-heavy-page or feed-new-paper or how's-the-ink-doing, so the choreographer would have to be especially talented. But the feelings regarding finally having a file (127 pages!) printed should really be acknowledged somehow.

Um, y'all will tell me if I'm babbling, right?

(I'm supposed to teach in 3.5 hours. D'you think the students would notice how much I haven't been sleeping tonight? D'you think I'll be able to at least channel this to making their lesson amusing rather than suffering-from-a-cranky-exhausted-without-any-patient-left lecturer? I'm not going to dance, though.)

I love your babble.

ION, shit. At COB, I discovered a slight issue. Not a big one, but something unexpected. And we have first external light on a instrument tomorrow and it makes that a little bit more of a nailbiter. Did I mention it is happening at 7:30 am??? Uhg. I just sent out an email to the main dude with some extra info and warning.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

A dance to the sound of the printer working.

Oh, I've done that dance.

There is no sound to the burning of CDs with the completed work. That is somewhat less satisfying.

t joins hands with Jesse and sarameg in a dance

t We don't look like the Trio from BtVS' "The Storyteller", though

My printer dance looks like an angry troll throwing a fit. Because if I'm dancing before a printer, it is pissing me off.

I like hearing rain on my skylight....

Punishingly Intricate

okay, I'm watching MTV -- True Life "I'm Uncomfortable with my New Body" about two people who had weight reduction surgery and are having a hard time getting used to their "new" bodies and I swear the guy they are featuring is the son of my friend's old daycare provider in Brooklyn. Random.

This could open a whole new field of household-items physics. Next: the width of couches and of staircases in which they are supposed to go through

Ha! Seriously! I always think it's my spatial disability that gets me but really it's PHYSICS out to get me!

And with that, I'm off home. It's even going to still be dark outside for thirty minutes or so!

But not before I thank you guys for tonight. Whenever I have to pull through something and the toughest part is the being-completely-alone-at-night, even just the very knowledge that I'm, indeed, *not* alone, and not just not alone, but with *you*, whom I miss so much lots and lots (not a typo!), is wonderful, in and of itself. And actually getting to post with you may indeed be what's keeping me on the proper side of feeling ridiculously sorry for myself. Not to mention, lots of fun. Thank you thank you thank you!

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Kat, believe it or not, my daughter's counselor is suggesting that she do the honors transfer program at the JC near us because it's less stress than a 4-year, she can knock out her remaining classes in one year and transfer as a junior so

I think this may be true in a non-recession, no budget cuts, easy to get into classes at a CC time, but it's just not true now. One of the valedictorians' sister has been doing the 2 year program at Valley CC for 3 years now. And she also graduated at the top of her class? Why? Because she can't get into the classes she needs.

HOT DAMNED! I warned the folk about possible delays. Data came in early. But head guy got his data already. Everything worked. I get gold stars for catching the glitch and that the glitch didn't matter!
