The same reason that sending anthrax to Patrick Leahy's office isn't terrorism
I dunno, Burrell. I don't know the reasons for sending anthrax to a politician, because without a note you don't know the point. But the reasons for killing an abortion provider, and harrassing his family and employees and clients, are pretty clear. Both to stop the work he's doing, and to stop anyone else from doing it, either.
And they've pretty much succeeded. There are only a handful of physicians in the US who will do very-late term abortions now, regardless of the medical necessity for them. They've been scared off by the harrassment and the legal restrictions.
It's sort of like hate crimes: they work to punish the particular individual, and they oppress all the other members of that community by scaring them.
In case it wasn't clear, Consuela, I do think it's a form of terrorism.
Woops, I missed your point.
t slinks away
It's okay, Consuela. I guess I wasn't clear.
Bake them with the other stuff! How many apples are we talking?
The squash wasn't looking very good so I ended up sauteeing them to go with the chicken anyway.
Why is there no terrorism charge in the Tiller case? This anti-abortion approach is all about changing behavior by instilling fear. How is that not terrorism?
As long as were at it, why isn't this being referred to as an assassination? And if reputable news outlets could stop using the term "Abortion Doctor" that would be nifty too.
Alton Brown has a good and easy applesauce recipe here: [link]
It includes cognac (or brandy) and is cooked in the microwave!
I had spaghetti with meat sauce.
Me too! Although the meat in question in my sauce was ground buffalo. And I used our own basil and a not-ready-yet bulb of our organic garlic. It was yum!
It sounds yum, Liese. I browned a pound of ground beef, poured a quart of sauce over it, and simmered it for half an hour. Still pretty tasty.
Ooooh, on the Hawk Cam video!
Spare Cat is still in her collar. It would function additionally as a flotation device, so if she falls into a river or something I think we're covered.
