Well, I know it's hard to play wind instruments in weather that cold, I can't imagine it's terribly nice to play violin or cello in 20 degree weather either...

But to play at noon, and know Obama is becoming president as you play? HELLS YEAH!

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Simple gifts existed before Copeland I believe. I think he incorporated it into Appalachian Spring.

Oh, I know. It's a Shaker folk song. But Williams cribbed from Copland's use of it.

(Sorry. Copland geek.)

"What would it take to get your daughter to stop tweeting about this?"

Wow. Short, to the point, and effective. On Lincoln's Bible. There is just so much to take in.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

So who messed up the oath? The justice or Obama? It sounded like Obama had memorized it and realized it was wrong and then couldn't decide what to do!

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

They said that Yo-Yo Ma had a special carbon fiber cello, because a wooden one wouldn't sound right in the cold.
