I am most worried at this point about the laptop, since I borrowed it from the theatre. I wiped it all off, and tried to shake all the coffee out, and now have it sitting upsidedown to dry.

Take the battery out of the laptop. Take it apart as much as you can and dry the bits. Usually you can take the keyboard off fairly easily so you can dry it inside. I have had successful recovery from coffeed laptops, and complete failure. Yes, it has happened more than once.
Well, I am not home now- I was also late for work! Hopefully, since i immediately turned the power off, nothing got fried. I am not sure I can afford to replace a 17 inch Mac Powerbook.

My boss just discovered he has a patent.
Years ago he worked for Motorola. He knew he had a patent pending, but he assumed Motorola had abandoned it and it had never gone through. But it did.
My work IT guy said that because I didn't take the battery out of the coffeed laptop, it could start a fire in my house. Then when I started getting upset, he sort of took it back.
Do we think I should go home (keeping in mind that since I take a bus, it will be about a 3 hour round trip.)
Is there anyway you can call your landlord or a neighbor to have them check on it? Just to set your mind at ease?
