Zoe: Nobody's saying that, sir. Wash: Yeah, we're pretty much just giving each other significant glances and laughing incessantly.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I have strong-armed certain people, but only in extreme circumstances.

I'm pretty sure I just saw this woman on an episode of Cash Cab: [link]

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

As it turned out, the front end of the apartment was much, much quieter than the back, and we all slept fine. We did wake briefly at 1 or so due to an inane front-stoop fight (Frat Boy A: incomprehensible whining and geebling; Frat Boy B (sullenly): Yeah, but I didn't do it! A: geeble; B: But I didn't do it!--for fifteen or twenty minutes, finally resolved when one of them got tired of it and just walked away), but the worst of the noise was definitely in back.

Random Matilda conversation, yesterday:

Matilda (peering in my mouth): What's that?
Me: My retainer.
Matilda: I get a retainer too!
Me: Your teeth are perfect now. Maybe when you're big.
Matilda (pondering): I got to grow. When I'm big. I will grow to be a big...big...big...big strong big, big, big...ROBOT.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Matilda (pondering): I got to grow. When I'm big. I will grow to be a big...big...big...big strong big, big, big...ROBOT.

With a retainer!

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

FEAR THE WRATH OF ROBOMATILDA!

I wish I had a macro lens for my camera. There's all sorts of interesting looking bugs out and about in the garden.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

We'll have to get you this when Matilda reaches that point.

Always Anti-fascist!

When I was a little bit older than Matilda, my mom had to face down our neighbor who had a Harley he tuned in his living room...it gave me horrible nightmares. He did eventually stop when she asked, but seriously, wtf?

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Oh Jesus. George Tiller, one of the few late-term abortion providers left in this country, shot and killed on his way into church this morning. I'm just sick.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Oh, no! That's awful.

That's in Wichita! I know where that church is. I mean, I know where the clinic is for that matter.

Just terrible.
