Wesley: All right. I'm going to let you all in on something you may have trouble comprehending. I assure you however-- Gunn: Vampires are real. Wesley: I was telling!

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Who has said any of those things?

Um. Sorry if I am misreading comments like

it was a jocks-and-queen-bees thing

I'm in a really shitty fucking mood. I'll just go away and come back when I'm less likely to snap.

Now tagless for your comfort.

meara, there is a nice quickie spa in McCarren where you can get a decent pedi or chair massage for a good price! I could live in that airport.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

“Not dead yet!”

Happy Birthday, Gud.

I have survived the end-of-the-year Beginning Band concert. Nate performed quite admirably in the percussion section, playing some especially snappy snare drum on "New York, New York."

And in a JesusGod, but the music world is small, when the Wind Ensemble (the advanced band) was playing, I happened to notice then name of one of the chart's arrangers seem awfully familiar. Afterward, I went up to Mr. Isabelle, the director and said, "Y'know, this would be just stupid ridiculous coincidence, but the arranger on the Elgar piece shares the same name with my horn instructor from drum corps."

Mr. Isabelle replied, "Florida Wave?" and when I nodded, he grinned and said, "Yeah, it's the same guy-- I've played some gigs with Chris-- tremendous musician."

Holy shit. I mean, seriously-- we're talking twenty-six years ago. The funny thing about corps was that a lot of our instructors weren't a whole lot older than us-- Chris was probably twenty-five or twenty-six when I was in corps.

On the hugs thing, I come from a very physical family, culture, plus being in band and corps, we were a ridiculously touchy-feely bunch. I like 'em.

Sorry, I thought I'd been clear that I was talking about behavior I saw in school decades ago, because that was the Times piece reminded me of. I'm not sure what read as "and anyone who likes hugs is a jerk" but that certainly wasn't my intent.

hip deep in pie

Theatre school was hugs, kisses, massage, and random making out.

In Quebec, I have been kissed hello by near strangers.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I need to know more about this! I often have time to kill there. "Often" relative to the fact that I go to Vegas once a year.
