I used to have clockwork periods, every 28 days.
I haven't had another period yet since the one when I went off hormonal birth control in early April.
That's not so long ago when you consider that your body has to start ovulating first. (TMI font)
I tend to get sharp, owie cramps that last a few hours when I ovulate. So... expect a period about 2 weeks after the weird, random cramps.
Jesse, it will show up on the day you decide to wear your nicest pair of panties, with white pants and sit down on a white sofa while you're out with a hot guy.
Heh. I've been wearing new light panties to bring it on! I think I need to find the hot guy to really make it happen.
I've never had the mittleschmertz before, Burell, so I don't know that I'd start now.

I used to be 28.5. It was marvellous.

Word.
Mmmm, pasta.
One moment I loved in MIchael Pollen's book was when he was arguing that America, collectively, suffers from an eating disorder, and his proof was that we had come to demonize bread and pasta, two foods that never did anything to harm anyone.
The only time I had 28 day cycles was when I was on the pill. A short cycle for me was 35 days. Mirena = no real cycle to speak of, of course.
Except for the people who have a tendency towards diabetes. (Admittedly, I hated Michael Pollen's most recent books, though I loved Botany of Desire).
I had no periods at ALL on BC pills, but I did gain about 15 lbs. (Judging by the amount I kept off after D was weaned - I pretty much didn't notice any of the side effects of BC until I went off it and realized, hey, THIS is what not feeling like crap all the time is like! This is great!)
speaking as a person with diabetes, Pasta and bread are still not evil. The general diet of people from the USA -- way more bread and pasta and not enough fruits and vegetables. Low fiber is more evil.
do you like my soapbox?

Yeah, that was me traditionally as well.
