Do you think I can get dry ice at the grocery store? I've never bought it before, and can't seem to find a water & ice store in my neighborhood.

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
We sometimes got dry ice from ice cream places. A party supply place may also know where you can get it.
We got let out of class more than an hour early! I think the instructor wanted to go home and cut his grass... not complaining!
I might go and take a nice nap to celebrate.
bon bon: Try Northridge Ice, 18228 Parthenia Street Northridge, CA (818) 993-4425
I saw that place, Kat, but they look limited to commercial.
Hmmm.... damn. My other suggestion: [link] Not near you, near you (in fact, a few blocks from me) but if yelp can be believed it's not just commercial.
WAIT. on edit: [link] new address
I may check that out if I can't find it at a grocery store-- thanks!

Oh dear. So far almost nothing has broken through my bad mood, but pictures of Sparky, husband, and baby Kalliope worked. She's such a sweetie. I esp love the pic of her sleeping with her tiny hand holding in her binky. Brings back memories. Kat's right, BTW, we found several places to buy those binkies online, and I've even seen them in my local Target.

Brilliant!
Caulking finished. Clearly not a professional job, but now water can't get into the walls anymore. I'm out of practice (I actually used to be good at caulking. NSM anymore.)
