Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Despite coming in at 9:00, I am done for the day and get to go home....

Good luck ita!

Getting to work before 8:30 is not appreciably making me get any more done. Of course, spending 8:30 to 10:30 in back to back meetings might explain that. Tuesday looks to be more of the same.

My supervisors are being baffled by my lack of ambition. I'm 2nd in productivity after some alien cyborg guy, but my quality is just a few points from what they want before they promote me to more responsibility. But more responsibility is not what I want. Responsibility equals stress, which may not be countered by whatever raise they may think of giving me. I like coming in, doing my job, and going home.

I also have the option of dealing with customers over the phone and over chat. I prefer chat, because I hate talking to people on the phone, especially when they're annoyed. But I'm good at phone work. My supervisor said, "I've heard you on the phone, you're one of the best." Me: "You can be good at things that you hate to do." He looked utterly baffled by that. But then, he's often utterly baffled.

Unrelated E-mail tactic has been successful, negative interpretation not made. No contingency plan needed.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I was able to leave work at 3, go grocery shopping, and now I have the house to myself for at least another half hour before DH gets home with Dylan!

I should probably use this time to clean, but I'm trapped between the laptop and the couch.

I am so very thankful that people in other office locations don't use the phone to talk to me. Many of them have accents that I have trouble with, and I can refer back to emails. Not to mention you have a paper trail (so to speak) of interactions.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

"You can be good at things that you hate to do."

I used to be high-stress-situation-angry-customer-go-to girl. Fuck I hated that. Just because I never got mad in the office. I didn't think it appropriate.

Smiling Bob. Chubby Santa. Ick.

I'm trapped between the laptop and the couch.

That seems to have happened to me too. But at least I can apply for work from here. Getting approaches there too. As well as one woman telling me I'm eligible for compensation for having been scammed by the Nigerians. Or folks from Bokina Faso.

While watching Highlander. They really set this up to be the only movie. And it spawned how many more, plus a TV series or two?

I'm in trouble for calling a kid a poser. Which I did. Doood. Dressing like a "greaser" (seriously) is all about posing. What. Ev. Er. I will apologize because the apology is warranted. That being said, I do believe the kid needs to suck it up and stop doing things like texting someone during state mandated testing.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Well no therapy it seems. mac pitched a fit when I attempted to get us out the door. I am not up for a big forceful fight, especially not on the way OUT of the house. The last meltdown outside of the house was really unpleasant and safety is so much more of an issue.

So, home for the evening. He'll be spending some of it in his room, because there will be no tv for him, but damn if I am not going to watch something, and soon.

oh msbelle. I am sorry he's not feeling well and I'm sorry that things are a constant level of stress. I wish there were more ways to offer you support than just words on your screen.

YAY Burrell on the lack of cancer!
