WGN is "going in a new direction," so they're firing these two after twenty years.
Aw, I hate that. Sorry, Kathy. Yay for new couch, though!
I turned on my favorite station up here yesterday and it was gone. In its place was Christian talk radio. I almost crashed the car.
This weekend we're heading to Indiana to visit with family and friends from (I can't believe I'm saying this) elementary school!
And I'm running a 5K with my sister.
and you use your foil to spear the hors d'oeuvres as they go by....
More of an epee thing I would think.
This weekend I will be at the Fremont tournament with Emmett. Which means bleachers behind a Junior High School all day Saturday from 7:30 to 2:30, then we adjourn to a nearby hotel which will be hosting six of our tournament teams (all age groups). Consequently it will be an insane-o madhouse of pre-teen hijinks including such favorites as nearly-injure-yourself-poolside and elevator-tag (very popular with the non-baseball guests, you may be sure). Sunday and Monday will be much the same.
JZ and Matilda will be flying up to Portland this weekend to see Uncle Chris.
"Snow Machine" is over now? Thank goodness.
Snowmachine is an Alaskan thing. Much like "duck, duck, grey duck" is a Minnesotan thing (instead of "duck, duck, goose", as is Right and Proper).
Thanks, Perkins and -t.
I'd love to buy an island. It's a ways down the list after "condo" and "retirement plan". Pity. But I'd gladly visit Buffista Island.
Congrats on the new couch, Kathy.
See "snow machine" makes me think of the device they use to make snow for ski slopes, not of a snow mobile.
"duck, duck, goose", as is Right and Proper
Agreed.

Facebook?
Snowmachine is an Alaskan thing.
That makes sense. You don't much need that word for the "making snow for ski slopes" machine up there, do you?
The noon show people are talking about the difference between Chicago and NY/LA when it comes to people's relationship with the media. Since we don't have a central connection to a big entertainment center (Broadway in NY, Hollywood in LA), the locals have a real connection with the local media in radio and local TV that is unlike those two cities. When a long-time radio host or news anchor leaves or dies suddenly, it's real news here and not just on their station. (Or so say these guys on the radio who have worked in other places than Chicago before returning here.)
I grew up listening to WGN which I had associated with my parents/grandparents, but they did change with the times so I started listening myself when I had a long commute into work. I guess I'm no longer the target demographic, which is why they're getting rid of my favorite show.
The dress I'll be wearing to the cocktail party arrived yesterday.
I've heard good things about eShakti -- have you bought anything else from them?
And msbelle earwormed me with Boom Boom Pow.
Plus, since I mentioned Lady Gaga yesterday, I've heard Poker Face about 10 times. And I think I'm starting to like it.
KHAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNN!!!!
