Spike: Lots of fuss over one girl. Other things to do around here--important things. Angel: You know that whoosh thing you do when you're suddenly not there anymore? I love that.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I have started inching back into the world of caffeine after a few months of giving it up entirely to see if it helped my insomnia. No luck. So now I'm allowing myself one cup of tea before noon. That can't possibly hurt, can it?

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

If you have to limit yourself to one, have some fun with it. [link]

I love my tea machine so very much.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Sweet -- we are closing at 2 today!

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

All that thing needs to be the Perfect Device is a laser that fires into the teapot to warm the tea....

hwæt

I couldn't justify buying a tea machine. It didn't seem to make things much less complicated than boiling water in a kettle.

hip deep in pie

I may have launched a kerfluffle at work. I told someone to do something and she ran with it. (Her first language is not English and I think something got lost in translation.) So she wrote to someone else saying that I refused to approve something, and "insisted" it remain the same, when I really have no power to do anything more than "strongly advise." I have to smooth this over somehow, but I am not sure how I won't step on toes.

Can I blame Tino for this?

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

This weekend I'll be:

  • Shopping for a black bra, shawl, and hose to wear to a cocktail party next week
  • Helping my manager load up the van with display stuff for next week's conference
  • Eating hot-dogs, with buns, and as many strawberries as I can get my hands on
  • Biking all over town, just for the hell of it (if my bike's still there when I get home)
  • Trying to see Star Trek again.

The dress I'll be wearing to the cocktail party arrived yesterday.

That machine is quite serious. More than I could justify for my one cup. But I have started paying more attention to brewing now that I know I'm just getting the one, no matter what.
