"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Yeah, the "God is Fucking With Us" theory makes more sense than established astronomy. Right.

After all, he put fossils in the ground to tempt us to unbelief.

I've never understood the appeal of a god who built the equivalent of whoopie cushions and hand buzzers into the universe.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I've never understood the appeal of a god who built the equivalent of whoopie cushions and hand buzzers into the universe.

I like the idea of an Almighty who's messing with us for the fun of it better than one who is installing "tests of faith" in the earth's crust.

RunPee.com Suggests the Best Movie Bathroom Breaks

With Lord of the Rings movies, anytime Arwen is on the screen, except when she's rescuing Frodo. This plan has made all my theatre viewings of the trilogy very comfortable.

Genius, you increase comfort and improve the movies at the same time.

Plus her scenes are very conveniently spaced. I can generally get back to Two Towers just as Aragon is kissing his horse.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I like the one in the second big picture, with the wings.

Am having a fractured visit from Colin. He's off to meetings, but I'm trying to get him to buy me lunch afterwards. Here's hoping the meetings don't drain him too much.

I have a couple calls coming up about jobs. Couldn't begin to tell you for what companies--I will be improvising madly. I should have asked the first woman, for tomorrow's call, but I was too busy being grateful. Oops.

I listened to an SGU podcast, and I'll give those guys one more try. They were a little smug on this last one, in their anti-acupuncture experiment interpretation diatribe.

My computer startled the hell out of me--for some reason the screen was flashing and the audio dropped out while I was on the cell phone. Turns out that it pauses iTunes automatically when my phone rings. Oh. Cool.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

You aren't talking about Stargate Universe, are you?

Trust my rage

So, if someone lists a house for rent on one website for one price and then lists it on craisglist for a lower price (by almost $500), they are obligated to rent it for the lower price, right?

eta: because I was interested in the house at the higher price but it was a bit out of our range. At the lower price, it's totally in our range and I want to sign the contract.

Ah, no. No Lou Diamond Philips for me. Skeptics Guide to the Universe. These people are very angry.

You'd *think*. But I don't know how enforecable that is.
