Angel: Just admit it: you think you're gonna ride in, save the day, and sweep Buffy off her--Spike: Like you're not thinking the same thing. Angel: I'm already seeing somebody. Spike: What, dog girl?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'm setting up my laptop. Anyone have some good science or entertainment podcasts to recommend? I'm news shy, in that I prefer to read it.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

eta: Ah fuck, I missed that you wanted podcasts.

Duh. Anyway, these are all good blog feeds....

Wired Top Stories

Boing Boing

Coctail Party Physics (duh)

Laughing Squid

Neatorama

SciFi Wire

Need more? I got lots....

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Processing medical and childcare reimbursements. No wonder my bank balance seems so low, I haven't sent anything in this year yet, but I keep paying down my credit card where all these charges are put.

Well, at least in 4-6 weeks I should get some big checks in to help with that.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Anyone have some good science or entertainment podcasts to recommend?

For science, I like the World's Technology Podcast from PRI and Science Talk from Scientific American.

I can't install a fix until you file a ticket. I can't do anything further until I get the fix. I can't get the fix installed until I get project special dispensation. I can't get that until.you.file.a.ticket. For three days you've been asking for details and progress and we keep telling you file a damned ticket.

Until that happens, this is all theoretical.

I like Astronomy Cast with Fraser Cain and Dr. Pamela Gay, and Are We Alone? with Seth Shostak. That's a SETI podcast, but it covers a lot of different science topics.

So it's not just a bunch of podcasts that say, "Nope. No aliens yet."

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

I want a new place if only it'll get me the hell out of Jacksonville and somewhere a) I really want to be and b) potentially living near friends.

San Francisco!

And now I have a Lucero song stuck in my head:

I’m afraid that I might drown if I don’t move
From these waters that run so deep
From these Southern ways and lazy heat
Now I’m stuck, ain't got much to show
[...]
Well, San Francisco sure sounds nice
And Brooklyn might suit me just fine
'Cause life down here just moves so slow it seems
Like a river barge pushin' upstream

No, it's good, they cover lots of stuff. If you don't like bad puns you'll want to avoid it though. Phil Plait is a recurring guest on the Sunday shows.
