Jayne: Captain, can you stop her from bein' cheerful, please? Mal: I don't believe there is a power in the 'verse that can stop Kaylee from being cheerful. Sometimes you just wanna duct tape her mouth and dump her in the hold for a month.

Trust my rage

All this talk of moving has got me looking forward to our move. Which I usually hate. And I do hate that moment when the movers arrive and it's not your home anymore but just a house full of stuff. Joe and I are working hard on throwing stuff away/giving it away this time.

I've already thrown away all the furniture broken from previous moves that we thought me might fix at some point in time. Next up - clothes. I'm thinking that even if it's a sweater that you would never wear in PR, I'm still gettign rid of it if it hasn't been touched in three years. It's time for new stuff - I'm a different shape than I was three years ago.

eta: and we still have no orders. So I'm planning on leaving in four weeks but there are no guarantees.

I did a massive clear-out of my old clothes when we moved last weekend. In the process, I had to deal with the fact that I have gone up several clothes sizes over the past few years, and that I'm unlikely to go back. And now I am over it.

New places are ace. Ours has a view of trains! We're right near one of the big London stations. Much fun. I'd become a trainspotter if I weren't just a bit too far away to see the numbers on them...

“Not dead yet!”

I want a new place if only it'll get me the hell out of Jacksonville and somewhere a) I really want to be and b) potentially living near friends.

Otherwise, my ass is parked here for the foreseeable future because I hate, hate, hate moving. I've been in awe of you guys who've been handling it so well.

Bev, JulieB -- I didn't know that moving was that imminent! It feels like time has speeded up considerably this year....

I recommend Pasadena.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

I recommend Pasadena.

Pfft. That's still on the same continent. I recommend Melbourne.

Nah. Warm weather's for wimps. I'd go with Manchester, where chilly rain hangs in the air. You have to have a lot of very resigned stamina to live here in uk-land.

Today, here in Leeds, we've had five types of weather in three hours. It currently thinks it's spring. It'll change its mind in a minute.

Um, in Florida I thought you just got about 5 different variations on "hot and humid". I mean, aside from the daily thunderstorm and yearly hurricane.
