I'm not sure how old he is, but I heard him use the word 'newfangled' one time, so he's gotta be pretty far gone.

Our wings are not tired

Self employed peeps: Do you do W2, 1099 or Corp to corp? Why?

This is from a little way back, but I didn't see anyone say anything.

I get a mixture of both W2 and 1099. I don't have too much say in which one. Many companies don't want to list me as an employee, as such I get 1099'ed, Some hire me through employment agencies like Cast and Crew, in which case I get a W2. The places I teach as an adjunct I get paid as a part time employee, so it's also a W2.

My experience has been that I don't have too much say in the matter. I like having a balance of the two. When I do get paid on a W2, I usually claim zero exemptions and have some extra money withheld out of each check just to help offset the amount that I'll owe at the end of the year due to a lot of 1099 income.

This post has multiple personalities.

Yay sparkybaby!

Boo on sick kidlets. At least Grace is at Huntington. Hope sleep is found soon.

Hubble is back in orbit. Release shortly before 9 am. I "saw" it.

OMGWTF, you SLACKERS. For weeks we've been prodding the teams to get us necessary info. Crunch starts NOW, and I'm going to be very busy. So now they decide to start asking "um, how do we do this again?" I keep flipping off my monitor.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Congrats Sparky!

I'm sorry for your kiddies' health woes, Kat. I hope they're better soon.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Every year the Eurovision contestants strive to remind us all that The Apple was not nearly the parody that most Americans assume, and this year is no dissappointment.

The winning entry, from Norway

The AWESOME entry, from Serbia.

That Norwegian kid terrifies me. I think he might be plotting to come to my house and kill me and eat me.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

The Norwegian singer is about the cutest thing I've ever seen. t edit I didn't see flea's post when I posted mine -- you think he's scary? But he's so adorable! I want to pinch his cheeks and make him soup!

And the Serbs are 100% kickass AWESOME indeed.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Congrats, Sparky!
