"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Man, I am not gonna have enough time in NOLA!

That's true. And yet, it's best not to rush around down there. Pick your spots and savor them. Also, it's very important to arrange your day so that you can cab back to the Napoleon House at 3:00pm for a Pimm's Cup, then return to your hotel or B&B for a nap. Then you wake up, shower and go to dinner and seeing music.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

My last trip to NOLA I had a great time working on the schedule of up and out by 9:30 - 10, drink in hand shortly after off to a tourist thing, stay perma-buzzed but never drunk all day, eat the big meal at lunch at the nicer places, try to get a spot in the sun in a patio for a few hours in the afternoon, shopping later afternoon, dinner, at the hotel and in bed by 10.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

3:00pm exactly??

That's when the light is best. Plus, you can get a substantial nap in and not be groggy for dinner.

I didn't realize Kathleen Sullivan is gay! Oooh, that would be a cool choice, and you can't doubt her credentials. Though I think he's leaning towards Sotomayor, and Sullivan is reportedly not on the six person shortlist.

This is so cool--last night, Obama hosted a poetry jam! They originally called it a poetry slam, but realized that it wasn't a slam due to not being a competition.

Claritin does nothing for me. I find that Zyrtec works much better, and Allegra is even better still, but you still need a script for that.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Hey, my parents' church in Cambridge, MA (the church I grew up in) is up for a historic preservation grant, via the ballet company that shares the building. If you have a minute, go here [link] register, and vote for Jose Mateo Ballet Theatre. Nora and Frank can be exempt for voting for JMBT, but should still vote!

Claritin is good for my year-round cat allergies, but apparently the double whammy of pollen/trees/grass on top of the cat allergies is just too much for weak-ass Claritin.

Time to break up with Claritin. Or at least have an open relationship.
