Well, you'd better not be thinking what I think you're thinking, because my answer is the same as always — no threesomes unless it's boy-boy-girl. Or Charlize Theron.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

My mother gets hers delivered right to her door. It's pretty great.

How have I not come across that website before? It's full of information I need!

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I bought shares in a CSA last summer and I'm glad I did it, but won't be joining this year - the same farm sells at our local greenmarket, and I think I can get a better value picking and choosing my own produce. (The CSA hauls were *very* heavy on the lettuce, and I really just can't eat that much green salad.)

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

You know what? I am not going to watch the NOVA on Shuttle disasters when a shuttle is up with astronauts I've met who are doing something that has direct impact on my job.

Sounds wise, sarameg.

I hadn't thought about it Kat, but it depends on whether or not her teacher will be there. Given that I know she was at a UTLA meeting this afternoon, I have a pretty good guess.

What would you do if you were me?

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Very interesting. A Jewish group has started issuing a special "Ethical Seal" to kosher restaurants who comply with a bunch of guidelines about how they treat their workers. (These guidelines are actually all New York City, New York State, or federal laws, but there have been tons of reports of restaurants getting really shady with how they pay employees.) There have been various groups talking about doing this or something similar for a while, but I think this is the first one to actually get started. [link]

I'd keep her home. I think that there is going to be enough chaos and tsuris that it's better to just stay home. I don't plan on going to work that day.

The union allegedly voted for a one day work stoppage in protest of impending cuts. The stoppage is actually in violation of the contract which says teachers can't strike during state mandated testing (the testing window opens this week and remains open throughout next week and the week after, I believe). The district went to court to get a temporary restraining order against the strike.

The union is deciding whether or not it wants to continue the work stoppage. The superintendent just sent an email to teachers saying that it is an illegal work stoppage and any teacher who protests etc (as is possible that the union might still pursue) will be subject to disciplinary action.
