Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Because books.

A friend who lived on Tenth and 49th could get everything from Chinese to Mexican to burgers to diner breakfast delivered. The sheer variety was awesome.

Ah, thank you.

I could get cuban, arepas, chinese, "mexican," italian, sushi, and greek delivered and that's just menus I have in my apartment. None of them were what I wanted!

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Jesse, have you tried seamlessweb? I used to get about 150 places that would deliver to me through there. You can search the menus and don't have to use the phone!

Last I checked, if they had any, seamlessweb had like two places in my neighborhood. Queens discrimination!

I had an awesome burger last night. Need to ask neighbor what he did.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

Need to ask neighbor what he did.

Wild guess: used really good quality meat. Stuck it on low heat. Only turned it over once. Avoided over-cooking.

Not low heat! Wouldn't that lead to lack of crusty exterior? I say high heat, cook fast. You just need enough salt and fat and you're good to go. I have a friend who makes meatloaf burgers (bread crumbs and crap in the meat), and meh.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Happy Mother's Day to all the buffista moms, of all varieties!

We had a good moms day here. I made a big brunch for my MiL, but it was quite easy: ham, scalloped potatoes, salad, tabouleh (left over from a few nights ago). DH decided it needed to be more brunchy and made waffles. Then there was much communal gardening. Now, we are all being lazy.

There was one scary part: Isaac fell off his grandma's lap and beaned the back of his head. I had visions of Natasha Richardson in my head, but my sister asked me a bunch of questions and told me it was likely no problem, so I just kept an eye on him. He's doing fine now. Phew!
