Pretty cool except for the part where I was really terrified and now my knees are all dizzy.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Turns out Tolkien was more accurate than originally thought--homo floresiensis (aka, the hobbit) had really big feet! I wonder if they were hairy, too.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Dear god. This man is telling me to break into my 401K to pay for his services. I hate the hard sell.

“Not dead yet!”

There's really nothing more pitiful than a sulking dog. Especially after receiving a summer haircut.

With respect to Manny Ramirez, I have no pity. He's been on The List since his Cleveland days. I wasn't in the slightest bit sad to see him go.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Apparently it wasn't steroids.

It was Clomid (or rather something similar): [link]

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

The medical museum turned out to be rather diverting. I got to mock the dominant discourse with my professor. Which is more fun than it sounds.

Klingon uses prefixes rather than suffixes, and instead of having six or seven of them, like most romance languages, it has 29

Reminds me of Welsh...

It's been a hard day. There will now be watching of TV shows that I've been saving for such a day.

The only good reason to cash in your 401K is to avoid foreclosure.

I wonder how many follicles he got on this round?

I am down, because of sad newspaper and people-I-know medical stories (face transplant, prostate cancer, melanoma). Why the world gotta be so sad, man?

I stand firmly in the ML baseball is a mess corner. I should also add the banners of the NFL, NBA, NHL and greater NCAA to that corner, although some of those bodies do a more admirable job at trying to keep things clean.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

It was Clomid (or rather something similar):

Which apparently is something you use at the end of a steroids cycle, though it has testosterone boosting effects of its own.

It's telling that he's just accepting the suspension and apologizing.

Sucks. I was enjoying the effect Manny had on the Dodgers, even as I root against them.

Emmett's going to be so bummed. I hate telling him. It's just been one disillusionment after another for him. He used to have a Bonds headline taped to his door, when Barry hit a game winning home run after returning from his father's funeral. Now everytime he sees Barry on TV he starts yelling, "Cheater! Cheater! Mr. Tinyballs!"
