YOURS!

My students take the AP exam tomorrow. GULP. One just AIMed me with "thanks Ms. Gullo for being awesome beyond the universe of forever." which is sweet and meant sweetly, but I wanted to kid her with "write better than that tomorrow please!!" (actually she's a very good writer).

Also, I need to have someone choreograph a cheer and a dance for tryouts.

when did I become this person?

OH! And even bigger? Our daycare person asked us to buy big-kid underpants for Noah. She said it's time to start PTing him. MEEP. My baby?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Copy the one they use on Buffy during "The Witch."

Or steal from Toni Basil's choreography for "Mickey."

Oh, David. Mickey was outdated (and not in a fun retro way) 16 years ago (meep) when I cheered!

That's because she used the choreography she did when she was a cheerleader in the late fifties.

But now it would be a post-modern lark, no?

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Kat, WRT pants for Noah: I found one of the best answers for the first few months of big boy/girl pants were the Gerber training pants. They are thick and cottony and absorb most of the pee. And they can be bought in extra wee sizes. Many of the toddler underpants are for 4 and up.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

That's because she used the choreography she did when she was a cheerleader in the late fifties.

From wikipedia:

The music video for "Mickey" was one of the most popular of the early MTV videos. In the video, Basil wore her head cheerleader uniform from Las Vegas High School, from which she graduated (though the year on the uniform, 81, was two decades after her actual graduation year).

Can you imagine? First of all, that Basil was 38 in the video. Also wearing one's cheerleading uniform 20 years later, on MTV, and looking pretty damn good in it.

I have heard that Gerber runs big though. I bought him several pair of Hanes (at an XS, they are still super roomy as Noah has no hips and the trimmest tush ever). I might take a look at hanna andersson because the 80s fit him pants wise and maybe that will be true in underwear too.

Sigh.

Other favorite my student comments:

Me: Why are you still awake? Don't you know you have a big test tomorrow? Go to sleep?

Student: I wanted to finish Turn of the Screw.

Heeee....Henry James = cramming.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

The Hanna trainers in XS are nice, too. (I found them easier to actually find than the Gerbers around here.)

Now tagless for your comfort.

I second Burrell's suggestion. I love the Gerber training pants.
