It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Immanuel and Kripkat fetch with their toys. Yesterday morning I was lying on my stomach on the couch and Kripkat dropped a mouse on my back, thinking that would be a good time for me to throw it. I declined.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

My cats play catch, not fetch. The best cat toy is the end of a quarter roll. You can put it on the end of your finger and flick it so that it flies around like a large round insect.

Oh yesh, I wake up in bed with cat toys all the time. I think Devi is the main culprit, but I wouldn't put it past Loki. He's the one who goes crackers trying to open the clear index card box I keep the fake mice in.

Devi's always brought me things to throw for her. Including dead mice.

I am continually amazed that creatures of such a radically different species as a cat would be so enamored of us that they want to play with us. And sleep on us, and talk to us, etc.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

One of our former kitties had a favorite toy - it was a piece of sheepskin formed into a ball with the fuzzy side out and attached to a long piece of leather. She'd carry it around in her mouth (occasionally tripping over the long piece of leather) and sometimes trying to meow around it. She also loved these little mice we'd get a Christmas time - a composition body, about 1" tall, covered with real fur of some sort. She'd play with those, tossing them up and chasing them, licking them, biting them ... one would usually last about 20 minutes until she'd licked all the fur off.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

One of the cutest monkeys I've ever seen.

I think my "local" UPS pickup is only open till five too. Fedex has decent post-work hours. I'm lucky that the lady who used to be the building manager here never goes anywhere and will happily sign for anything.

I keep noticing signs saying that Fedex Kinkos is now Fedex Office or somesuch, but they haven't actually changed the signs proper. I'll miss Kinko's from back in the day when I had no home computer or internet connection. Now I hate them, because it costs so much to just log on and print a resume, but those were the days.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

That monkey looks like it rolled around in pollen -- which would render it simultaneously completely cute and completely evil.

Hubby's old cat had a coil of bundled up twine that he liked to play with and sleep with etc. We put it with him when he died.

I love how I can hear the rain downstairs hitting the skylight in the upstairs bathroom. Now that I trust the roof (crossed fingers) I like the sound of rain on the roof. It's pouring now, and I couldn't figure out the sound at first.

t /house likes carrots

Mister Kitty came with a little crochet mouse that they all go bonkers over, even MK on occasion. Loki will play with just about anything, including me. Aaand he found his box o'toys.

Both FedEx and UPS AND USPS tend to piss me off. I really, really wish they'd deliver to their own stores for after hours pickup. I can't have stuff delivered to me at work. I need to find out which trustworthy neighbors are home during the day for redirect.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Tiny tiny monkey!
