Re: Kuma's Corner's burgers (the Chicago representative on the Food Network magazine list upthread)--the Burger of the Month for May is the Swine Flu! From a local foodie blog I saw this info at:
It started with fried tortilla strips, topped with chorizo hash, roasted green chile, pico de gallo, fresh cilantro and then there's a touch of like this cream based sauce that was pretty amazing.
And the waiters/waitresses are all wearing masks around their necks or on their foreheads.
sarameg, now it looks like a home.
Oooh, looks great, sarameg!! And Loki's definitely making himself at home on that couch!
Okay, I'm pretty proud of dinner tonight. Spinach and feta chicken sausage, onion, mushroom, and asparagus on top, and the whole thing on top of rosemary prosciutto corn cakes.
::drools at Dana's dinner::
I want Dana's dinner!
Or a hamburger.
My favorite burger in SF is at Mo's. I like the Bellybuster.
Awesome things about Mo's: fresh ground beef (you see them grinding it); they get their buns made especially for them; they make their own mayo; flame grilled; amazing toppings.
Bellybuster comes with mushrooms sauteed in white wine.
Admittedly, the corn cakes were made with Jiffy mix, but I *like* Jiffy mix.
Jiffy mix is one of those mixes that gets a high rating -- I think because it is simple.

It is. And cheap! It's never quite sweet enough for me, though, and a little too dry unless I fiddle with it.
