It's not like she blew me off. She just left with another guy, that's all.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Ugh. Work time again.

At least it's Friday.

What are people doing this weekend?

I am mostly nesting and running errands.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Killing ants, it's all out war now baby.

You should sing the theme song to the Pink Panther, except make the words:

Dead ant. Dead ant. Dead ant dead ant dead ant dead ant dead ant....

This Saturday I was invited to two can't-miss parties. One of them was written up in the New Yorker!. But the other party I want to go to also! I hope I'm not too tired for it. Plus, it's Free Comic Book Day, which everyone knows is the bestest holiday ever! (after Christmas, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Easter).

“Not dead yet!”

Going to see Wicked tonight.

Have no idea what the rest of the weekend holds beyond watching baseball.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

I know I'm horribly late on this (wasn't online at all yesterday after 5), but, Kat, I have a local-ish friend with a very, very similar background to L's (even grew up in the same area, and similar family dynamics--except her dad died when she was young, and her relationship with her mom became much rockier without that buffer and mediator between them). I'd be happy to ping or call her; she's got tons of local Armenian-American groups, churches and individual contacts, and even if nothing changes mom's mind, she could at least offer L some perspective on family and future and finding your adult woman's self from within the constraints of that particular set of cultural expectations.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

What are people doing this weekend?

I'm driving back to uni, on the other side of the country (which, let's face it, isn't all that far in the UK!), and attempting to finish this paper. Which is rather exhausting. That's about it, apart from trying to remember to eat and sleep. (I don't do so well with living alone. I'm looking forward to coming home properly in August/September.)

Also trying not to panic about the fact that, when I next come home, it will be to a different apartment. And that The Girl is trying to move all on her own. Gah.

Going to see Wicked tonight.

Nice! It's a fun show.

I totally forgot this was Derby weekend. We were invited to a party in Louisville Saturday night, which seems either really fun or entirely insane.
