I'm so sorry, but if it makes you feel any better, my fun-time-Buffy party night involved watching a robot throw Spike through a window, so if you want to trade... no wait, I wouldn't give up that memory for anything.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

Not a contradiction. If it is a free call, and they don't charge for using it, the it is indeed "complimentary" - i.e. free, though slow.

It's either that or no internet. So.

Yeah, beats the heck out of no internet.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Hooray for the internets in Your House, Sara!!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

The internet is a big part of feeling in the right place, even if it is dialup.

I have a sudden and strong craving for oatmeal cookies. Too lazy to bake, and too cheap to buy, though. That'll larn me.

Yeah, it was kinda lonely the first night when first my parents weren't answering and then my brother and Boise friend was travelling and I had no internet. Luckily, I was able to reach msbelle.

And then everyone started calling and I learned I do indeed now have call waiting and I don't know how to use it.

Honestly, were I to do it again (please no,) I would have had someone over to keep me company until bedtime. I was keyed up and needed distraction from all the damned boxes.

AC is in the house. On the living room floor. I am DEFINITELY going to have someone help haul the 65 lb units up the stairs and install them. The 45 lb one I might be able to manage, but....just getting them from my car up the front steps about killed me. And I need extension cords. The Despot didn't have the lengths I needed. I guess I might have to daisychain them.

Other updates: most of the clothes unpacked. Daily use and favorite shoes out. Closets aren't too bad (I'm going to return one garment rack, and the other might eventually move into the laundry,) but I need shelves. Or I could just wait for the antique washtable mom wants me to have. I think she *really* is planning on shipping out the furniture from their house this summer. I can walk through the front room without dodging boxes. Furniture isn't in its final location, but is taking shape. Basement is a disaster of stuff lying on the floor in boxes and filthy cleaning rags.

Is it wrong that on Chuck, I started tearing up when the force recon showed up? That doesn't seem quite right.

I feel like it would be scary alone in a house, at the beginning -- it's creepy enough in a new apartment, with everything all unfamiliar and boxes and everything. But yay! Home.

hip deep in pie

No, that's not wrong at all. I have much luck for Chuck right now. I don't understand how it can be threatened with cancellation...even though I know quite a few people who I think would love it who are not watching it.
