I, for one, wasn't looking forward to starting my day with a slaughter. Which, really, just goes to show how much I've grown

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Happy birthday to you, Isaac!

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I guess I have to go back to Target, since the loratadine I bought there yesterday expired in November.

Nah, it's still good. Seriously. Unless the pills are actually crumbling (in a big way, not just little nicks on the edges from knocking against each other in the bottle), or if there's a noticeable rank smell, they're fine.

Expiration dates on "dry" meds (pills, capsules -- not gel-filled caps, though -- tablets) are more of a CYA for the manufacturer. For "wet" meds, though (creams, liquid things like cough syrup, gel-filled caps), it's a good idea to keep an eye on the expiration date, because the fact that they have a liquid content means they'll degrade faster than a pill will.

t edit My rule of thumb is that a "dry" med is still good within 1 year after its expiration date (and probably longer, but I personally toss them after 1 year [uh, except for narcotic pain-killers; don't be like me]). So, for instance, I'd use the loratadine until November of this year.

Unless you were going to make a trip to Target anyway; in which case, give them shit for selling expired drugs. But you don't need to make a trip just for this.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

I was *so* planning to have more of this paper done by now. I may be getting there though, at last. I am envious of the people sitting outside, under my window (shared garden space). It's 16 Celsius here. I am not good with the translations. It's warm and sunny, anyway. I may give up attempting to write and go outside soon.

How old is Isaac? I wish him many many happies!

Now tagless for your comfort.

Happy Birthday, Isaac!

Hey, Hec, is Matilda still pretty wee? I have some 2T Summer dresses and things that I think she'd love.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yeah, Steph, I've been taking expired claritin so far this spring, and it's fine, but I'm (a) not anticipating finishing the pack before next spring and (b) annoyed that they're selling old meds!

annoyed that they're selling old meds!

Srsly. A store as large as Target should have better inventory management.
