Re lead paint - is it the mere presence that causes the problem, or is it a child's proclivity to put chips in their mouths that's the problem? Because I suspect I've got some serious lead paint action going in this apartment, but I'm not about to eat any of it.
Not like ingesting lead is good for anyone, but it's really children under five where it's a significant concern because it impairs cognitive development. For an adult, obviously you don't want it, but it's not like having asbestos on the walls.

And,as I understand it, asbestos is fine if its sealed in place -- its only when you breathe it that you get into trouble.

I got good stuff but I wish I had looked at the strawberries now.
Blueberries and strawberries were on sale here this week, so I got a huge amount of blueberries to make pie this weekend. The strawberries were monsters, enormous and red, and perfectly delicious. I may make banana bread, too. And for lunch tomorrow, I think I'll be having pork chops with rosemary and garlic, and green beans.
God, three minutes in and I'm already in love with FNL all over again.
Holy crap. I just got a message on Facebook from a half-sister who I think I met once at my grandfather's funeral when I was like ten.
Was it here that people were talking about the sitcom documentary? I'm watching it now, and just got to the part where Bill Cosby was talking about All In The Family. In addition to saying that Archie Bunker never apologized for anything, he also said that he doesn't think anyone ever learned anything from that show. To begin with, I think he's wrong about that, but also, is "Do people learn from it?" really the measure of sitcoms?
