On the plus side, Emmett walked, hit an RBI single, and blasted a two-run homer (his second this season). A line drive over the centerfield fence. He also made a twisting, scrambling grab of a foul pop while playing catcher. He stepped on the bat coming out to get the ball and his feet were pedaling in place like a Flintstone as he tried to (a) regain his balance; (b) lunge at the ball.

Awesome, go Emmett!

“Not dead yet!”

Has anyone else noticed that the world seems to have conflated "wary" and "leery" and is using "weary" when they mean wary and/or leery??

I've noticed. It's been making me batshit crazy(er).

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

THANK YOU, JZ. I figured it wasn't just me. What has happened to the English language?? I grow weary.

And young girls, they do get wooly...

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

"Weary, not wooly-- and she doesn't get stressed, she's wearing a dress! God, I hate when people get the lyrics wrong!"

Yeah it's getting bad out there, before you know it people will start using the wrong words for things like "Jumper" instead of "Sweater", or "Chips" instead of "French Fries", and mispronouncing words like "schedule".

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I blame Otis Redding.

Ok, I was aware of this one.
