Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Sarameg, I hyperventilated over the size of the checks I was writing. It didn't seem real. When the dust cleared though, we had the keys. And a county tax bill.

You'll be fine.

The check, I think, bothers me less than all the logistics. WHICH ARE FREAKING ME OUT, btw. It helps that I'd anticipated wiping out 90% of my savings and that's not the case. Just half. Or so. Made more sense in the near term and while it is more in the long, that's the very long. Next decade it gives me a lot more breathing room. But trying to juggle all the timing and did I mention I don't have movers yet because none of the quote requests have come back and fuck if I'm moving that sewing machine myself and I forgot the fax # for water at work and trashcans and blinds still not got and and and.

Yeah, I'm a case.

eta: wait, Bev, you've already done closing?! Also, me nsm with graceful transitions.

But the scotch has dulled the shaking.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Eleventh hour taxes are done, happy with my return (as opposed to previous years when the H&R Block fee was more than I was getting back).

Still haven't gotten a hold of New Landlady and am still afeared that I'll end up paying two rents in May. It's all my fault, really. If I wasn't such a flake and was able to equate "give us two months notice" with "from the time you give us notice you are obligated to pay us two months rent". Which, how the fuck am I to know that I'm going to find a place and it be ready to move two months before I find the place and get a move-in date?!

It's all good, I have more time to ready the old place for inspection.

Julie, if it is any consolation, I may have similarly fucked myself. Haven't got confirmation, but by the time it was a sure thing and then I dawdled a few days, it may have cost me a couple months rent. I had no idea March 1 I'd be moving out by May 1!!! On top of mortgage. No fun. I need to call tomorrow.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

The silver lining is that my site manager is a doll and backdated my vacate notice to the first, rather than the fifteenth, and said she'd act dumb and say it got lost in the shuffle.

Try crying to whomever it is worth crying to in order to get some leeway, Sara. I'm going to be claiming a misunderstanding of the type of notice my apartment needed (I did verbally inform site management a month ago of my intentions, and it was never clearly stated to me that they required written intentions. And, honestly, this is my first time renting and vacating, so I truly am a newbie at this game. In essence, I'm playing very very dumb. Hopefully that doesn't backfire, although it doesn't seem like there are any other takers to be in competition with.)

I need to sleep before my typos do me in.

I'm hoping the complex manager who has helped me out before will do so again. I got the termination acceptance today, in the mail, so we'll see. eta: and I'm a newbie too in the sense I've been here 12 years and before was unofficial college rentals. I shoulda read my lease agreement!!

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Why am I surprised by this? Blagojevich to appear on reality TV show

“Not dead yet!”

Apparently, Michael Vick is also looking for a reality deal.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Anybody hear Fresh Air? There was a woman who was talking about overcoming her fear of math, after dropping out of high school and finally passing Finite Math in college? Please to help me figure out her name and the name of the book?

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Apparently, Michael Vick is also looking for a reality deal.

I'd pay to see him torn apart by rabid wolverines. Is that a show?
