All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

What does this video mean? Incomprehensible Christianism Watch

If you believe in God you won't get shot? I dunno. Weird.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Believe in God or else?

my morning ... usually up between 6:00 and 6:30 (whenever the first alarm penetrates the fog), try to get out in time to catch a 7:45 bus, get to work between 8:15 and 8:30 (or later, if the transit PTB hate me).

brillig

Oh, I forgot. Wake up between 5:30-6:15 because the middle-aged female bladder is like that, then blearily open the front door so the cat can go out. He'll come back in when I leave for work.

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

Alarm: 6:50
Get up: 6:50 - 7
Leave: 8:00
Get to work: 8:30

Post-move schedule is pretty much the same as before except the bed-in-closet arrangement means hitting the snooze is much more difficult and therefore I'll probably just get up when the alarm goes off.

Commuting time is the same except I'm walking rather than taking MUNI, which is a big improvement.

I finally managed to find both my office key and phone charger last night, so that's a plus.

I should be completely out of boxes tonight.

Speaking of those Somali pirates, I was pleased to hear the morning radio show hosts on WGN tease what subjects they were going to be discussing before noon, since they mentioned the UN report on exactly why these Somali fisherman have gone into piracy. I think it's the first time I've heard any mention of this report outside of the blogs (I saw it first at crooksandliars a few days ago).

If you haven't seen the story, apparently, after the government collapsed back in 1991, ships from other countries, specifically western Europe, have been not only poaching the fishing in their territorial waters, but even worse, they've been dumping barrels of nuclear waste. The children born in the coastal areas of Somalia have been increasingly born with malformed limbs, etc., and the fishing has been getting worse. Then, after the Christmas tsunami, the barrels have been brought to the surface and are floating ashore and more than 300 people have died of radiation poisoning so far.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Congratulations! You've just outlived some interesting people. Tell us your date of birth, and we'll tell you who they were.

You've outlived Robert Louis Stevenson by two weeks. He was an author of "Treasure Island" (1883) and "The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" (1886). He died of a stroke on December 3, 1894, 71 years before you were born.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Wow, guys. I used to wake up at 9 and get in at 10:30. Unless I went to the gym, then wake up at 6:45.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Yeah, I'm not saying when I wake up, because you'd make fun of me.

I do work at home, though.
