'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

“Not dead yet!”

I was thinking the old-tyme pirate thing in our culture is kind of like the old-tyme gangster/bank robber/gunslinger thing.

And in both cases, we have Johnny Depp prettifying the myth further. [link]

Shit's all sorts of different now.

HMOG ita and Sue, that commercial is a thing of beauty. I love it and must spread the Good Word.

Because books.

There's a U.S. commercial airing now for the razor/trimmer thing, but it's much more subtle. If it can be subtle to show women walking by untrimmed bushes and trees, and leaving perfectly shaped ones in their wake.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

HOMG, people, Maddow on teabagging: [link]

Yes, really. Work-safe, but not remotely keyboard-safe.

Maddow on teabagging

I saw that last night--OMG, hilarious! She admitted to being barely able to hold in her giggles, and Ana Marie Cox was perfectly straightfaced while tossing out those borderline-decent comments. So funny!

ImememeN, I actually got some sleep last night! And it was all because I faked my cat out and pretended I was leaving my bedroom, so she darted out in front of me, and I shut the door behind her and went back to bed. Didn't wake up for over six hours.

No meowing at 3 in the morning, no listening to stuff get knocked off the chest of drawers at 4 in the morning, no getting nudged for scritches at 5 in the morning. Bliss!
